I've always been in love with Pokémon. I mean, you go around regions, you catch little creatures, and you battle them. Cute, right? Well, one day I was unfortunate enough to stumble across a Pokémon that wasn't so cute. Let me explain. It started about 2 years ago.

It was the first day of summer, and I was SO EXCITED. My dad was finally taking me out to buy the new Pokémon Pearl game! (It was new at the time) We drove downtown to GameStop, bought the game, and went home. Nothing out of the ordinary, really. When I got home, I played it nonstop! I was so intrigued by all the brand new Pokémon, and so I set out to catch every last new Pokémon.

Time passed, and I came close to completing my goal. When I spoke to Rowan, he told me I had one Pokémon missing. So I pulled up my pokedex and looked through until I found the missing spot. #208. I typed that number in on my computer, and I got a result. Frosslass. It said to get a Frosslass I need to give a dawn stone to a female snorunt. I searched for where to find one, and then I set off to find it.

After 3 minutes of searching, a female snorunt finally appeared. I sent out my first Pokémon, Empoleon. I used waterfall, and got her down to about 5 hp. I threw out an ultra ball, and waited. Click, click, click, DING! I squealed with joy when I caught her. I nicknamed her Yuki-Onna in honor of the legend I heard she was based off of.

Finally, I got to the Pokémon center and traded Yuki-Onna into my party from the PC. I immediately gave her the dawn stone and watched her evolve. I gasped when I saw her. She was shiny! I face palmed for not noticing that. Anyways, I talked to Professor Rowan and got my new national pokedex! I left Yuki-Onna in the PC after that.

Oh, how I wish I hadn't done that.

After I beat the game, I decided to climb to Spear Pillar again, because that's just what seemed fun, plus I was bored out of my mind with the game. I walked through the cave part and eventually made it outside to the snow. I started to make my way through the grass there, and got in a battle with an abomasnow. I groaned, and expected my Empoleon to come out, but instead my Lucario did. "What the heck?!" I roared. I opened up my party, and to my shock, Empoleon was missing! I-It's fine. I must've just left him in the PC earlier by accident! I tried calming myself down, and it worked. But as I continued on, my Lucario disappeared too, along with my others over time. I was freaking out now! I had no Pokémon in my party!

I continued forward, just because it was all I could think to do. But the higher I got, the snowier it got. Soon it got so bad, everything went white. I went every way, but I had no idea where I was. Eventually, after 10 minutes of hopelessly wandering, I found a cave opening, and I went into it.

When I stepped inside, the walls looked like they were made of crystals, and the floor was slippery ice, so I slid down the ice to the end of the cave, where I found 6 huge ice chunks with something inside. I walked up to one, and clicked A. Immediately, a close-up came up of the ice chunk, and what was inside… My Empoleon. One of his wings was completely torn off, and his shoulder bone protruded from its socket. It looked like his ribs were cracked in two, going opposite directions, leaving a gaping hole in his chest, exposing bloody raw muscles. His eyes were missing, and his neck was out of place completely, because it was resting on the left shoulder. I screamed and pressed B.
It automatically showed the other Pokémon, each one more horrifying than the last. I cried my eyes out when I saw the last one. It was supposed to be a Shiftry, but all that was left in the ice were his two shredded up leaves.

"???: How do you like it?" I turned my sprite around to see a bloodstained shiny Frosslass… Yuki-Onna.  "Yuki-Onna: I figured I'd redecorate my new home. And what better decorations than your old friends?"  I cried even harder when I read that sentence. "W-why?" I stuttered. She must have heard me somehow. "Yuki-Onna: It's simple, really. You caught me and evolved me. You knew I was special because I was shiny… and yet, you used me for selfish reasons. Now it's only fitting I use your friends for my own selfish reasons." Her sprite sat on top of Empoleon. "Yuki-Onna: You're not going to leave… Oh, and you won't need this anymore." The screen flashed white. My poketch was gone! I checked my menu, and it was blank! No Pokémon, no pokedex, no bag… Nothing.

"Yuki-Onna: Ah… Much better." She floated down to me. "Yuki-Onna: Since you are my older trainer, I guess I won't let you suffer all too much. It went to a close up of her face, and I noticed something. Her eyes glowed purple, and her ice bumps on top of her head had grown out, and curled around her head like ram's horns. "Yuki-Onna: It's time to end this suffering." My trainer was pulled into battle. I only had one move. Rest. I had no choice but to choose rest. "Yuki-Onna used Blizzard!" A huge gust of snow swept across the screen, and when it finished, my trainer was frozen solid. But that wasn't the end. "Yuki-Onna: No more." "Yuki-Onna used Destiny Bond!" Suddenly, I heard crazy laughter, and I presumed it was Yuki-Onna.

The end credits played on my game, and I stared wondering what just happened. Over time, I noticed my hands feeling numb. I looked down at them, and they were frozen. I screamed as the ice spread up my arms. It then spread down my torso to my legs, and I fell on the ground. I struggled to crawl across the ground, when my mom came in. She screamed, and called 911. Then she got her lighter, and lit it under my arm. But as soon as it touched my arm, the flame went out. I screamed. "Mom, Mom! Help me! PLEASE!" Tears rolled down both of our faces, as the ice spread up my neck to my chin. Gradually everything lost its color, and started getting darker and darker. I was barely awake, and all I remember next was loud, rapid footsteps, and a warm feeling all over.

I woke up in the hospital, and all the ice was gone. The doctors explained how a cop rushed in with a flamethrower, and melted all the ice off. Then, my mom came in the room. I leaped off of my cot, and ran to hug her.

I got to go home that night, and I took a long warm shower. But, I felt something, a cold spot. I looked down to my thigh, and there was a patch of ice.
Awesome! My best one yet! This, again, was inspired by frosslass's pokedex entry in platinum: "It freezes prey by blowing its -58 degree F breath. It is said to then secretly display its prey." I just found that interesting.

Yuki-Onna has a plz account! :iconyuki-onnaplz:
